Mission Corner
Global
Dear friends and partners,
Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ who called us to take the Good News to the ends of the world! Below is a brief report of our mission activities for the first quarter of 2021.
Helena, Montana (Jan 27-31, 2021)
Rose and I attended two mission conferences in Helena, Montana. We were blessed with the loving reception and support from Pastor John Cathcart of Last Chance Chapel, Jeff Richards of Helena Valley Foursquare Church, and their congregations. We were invigorated by testimonies from other missionaries while both reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. Words cannot express our gratitude to the hosts and their congregations who extended their hands of partnership to us in the Great Commission.
Togo, West Africa (Mar 14 - April 9, 2021)
In March, I travelled to Togo to oversee the projects we are undertaking there. These include a school, a clinic, an orphanage, as well as churches.
- The school. Praise God that all hurdles were cleared as the paperwork was completed and filed. The school is now in compliance with the government. Plans are in motion to expand to a middle school during the 2021-2022 academic year.
- The clinic. One project envisioned for the future is the building and management of a hospital. During the Montana conferences, a lady gave $1000.00 towards this vision. Rose and I were challenged to take a step of faith in making this vision a reality. We donated our old house to be converted into a health clinic. This is a humble beginning for the hospital to come. Remodeling has already begun and the clinic is scheduled to open by the end of May.
- The orphanage. Construction on our orphanage will resume in May. We anticipate the first phase will be completed by August. This is the basement which will serve as the church. The second phase, the first story which will house both boys and girls, should begin soon afterwards.
- The churches. I enjoyed celebrating Passover with representatives of three of our congregations. We also started planning for post-pandemic harvest of souls into the Kingdom of Christ. Ten mature believers from these churches were enrolled in a special discipleship program. The goal is to equip them in church planting. We have already identified the communities where we believe that
